The first NBA game for the PSX is NOT made by EA Sports. EA Sports developed NBA Live '96 trough '03, but this game is made by Acclaim. Therefore, I was surprised to discover that this game is actually above average. In fact, it's quite good. The controls are excellent. They're very responsive, it works perfectly. The sound's great too. The announcer never gets repetative, and the sound effects are really good. The graphics are gorgeous, especially for a first-gen PSX game. But the main attraction is the gameplay. There are more than 120 characters to choose from, great power-ups and special moves, different difficulty levels, and hidden characters to get. Long story short: this is not the kind of game you're going to blow trough in one sitting.
