Super Robot Wars Alpha Gaiden focuses itself on an epilogue of sorts to the original Alpha. It happens after the Balmar War and it counts with many of its established points - Amuro already starts with the Nu Gundam, Max has already convinced Miria to leave the Meltrandi... Due to mysterious events near the Macross, the main cast is transported to another world, a post-apocalyptical world full with wars and destruction. There, series' characters such as Xabungle's crew, Gundam X's or Turn A Gundam's live their lives without knowing what happened in the past a long time ago. Unlike the rest of the Alpha series, you cannot choose an Original Protagonist as the Alpha archetypes does not go to the future.
