            Û  Absolva is a classic metal band, based in           Û
            Û  Manchester, UK, & featuring twin lead guitar in     Û
            Û  the great British tradition. Formed in May 2012 by  Û
            Û  Chris Appleton & Martin McNee (both of Fury UK),    Û
            Û  joined by Tom Atkinson (Vice) & Dan Bate (Point     Û
            Û  Blank Fury).                                        Û
            Û  Chris & Martin had featured together since October  Û
            Û  2007 as part of successful classic metal trio Fury  Û
            Û  UK, a band which clearly established itself at the  Û
            Û  forefront of the UK scene. From inception to May    Û
            Û  2012, Fury UK, signed to Rocksector Records,        Û
            Û  released 3 albums, 1 EP & 1 DVD. The band also      Û
            Û  toured UK & Europe extensively as a headline act,   Û
            Û  played Bloodstock, Hammerfest & PPM Festivals, &    Û
            Û  toured as guests with Iced Earth, Saxon, Y&T,       Û
            Û  Michael Schenker & Blaze Bayley.                    Û
            Û  When Fury UK bassist Luke Appleton (brother of      Û
            Û  Chris) joined American powerhouse metallers Iced    Û
            Û  Earth, Fury UK was put on hold whilst Chris &       Û
            Û  Martin decided to form Absolva. Chris Appleton's    Û
            Û  reputation as an outstanding lead guitarist is      Û
            Û  well-known but a key part of the newly-formed       Û
            Û  Absolva is the twin lead guitar attack inspired by  Û
            Û  the likes of Iron Maiden & Thin Lizzy, now taken    Û
            Û  to a heavier edge akin to Judas Priest & Megadeth.  Û
            Û  Second lead guitarist, Tom Atkinson - from          Û
            Û  Manchester band Vice - was immediately recruited &  Û
            Û  after a run of auditions Dan Bate of                Û
            Û  Midlands-based band Point Blank Fury was chosen as  Û
            Û  the ideal man for the bass guitar role. Absolva     Û
            Û  was ready to be announced to the world on 23rd May  Û
            Û  2012.                                               Û
            Û  Amid a wave of expectation a debut show was played  Û
            Û  at SOS Festival on 22nd July 2012 to a resounding   Û
            Û  welcome, closely followed by 4 shows in August      Û
            Û  with Iced Earth - Dublin, Belfast, Glasgow &        Û
            Û  Bloodstock Open Air.                                Û
